Eskom to announce why the power is off in R’fontein

Eskom is attending to a technical problem with their Loadshedding Notifier App.

Eskom said their IT department is attending to a technical problem with their Loadshedding Notifier App.

According to the Loadshedding Notifier App, there was not supposed to be any load-shedding in Randfontein on Friday morning (31 January) but there was a power outage between 9am and noon. This left residents confused.

Reneiloe Semenya, Eskom spokesperson said their IT department is looking into the issue.

“We are aware of the problem. People on social media have been complaining that the App will indicate there is no loadshedding, yet there is loadshedding in their area.”
