Beloved RHS principal passes away

The RHS school community has paid tribute to Mbetheleli Valentine Dlamini, describing him as a dedicated and visionary leader whose influence extended far beyond the classroom.

The Randfontein High School (RHS) community is in shock and sadness following the unexpected passing of its beloved principal, Mthetheleli Valentine Dlamini.

Academic head and senior manager at RHS, Zelea Venter, confirmed the news to the Randfontein Herald. In addition to his academic leadership, Dlamini served as the secretary on the School Governing Body’s (SGB) executive committee

In an official statement released by the school, the SGB, staff and learners expressed their profound sadness at the loss of a leader who played a pivotal role in shaping the institution and the lives of those within it.

“Mr Dlamini was an exceptional leader, a passionate teacher, and a man of integrity whose unwavering commitment to education, excellence, and the well-being of every learner and staff member left an indelible mark on our school,” the statement read.

His sudden passing has left a deep void, not only within RHS but also across the broader education community. Many remember him as a mentor, a role model, and a guiding force deeply invested in the success and well-being of others.

The school extended its heartfelt condolences to Dlamini’s family, friends, colleagues, and former learners during this time of profound grief, calling on the community to keep the Dlamini family in their thoughts and prayers.

Details regarding memorial arrangements and opportunities for the school community to pay their respects will be communicated in due course.

Dlamini’s legacy of service, leadership, and dedication to education will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
