Young footballers took centre stage on Youth Day as the Dan Tloome Interphase Tournament concluded with an exciting soccer competition.
The Dan Tloome Interphase Tournament concluded on a high note on Youth Day with an exciting soccer competition that showcased the talent and enthusiasm of local young athletes.
Following a successful opening day of netball, the second day shifted to the soccer field, where teams battled for top honours in front of enthusiastic community support.

The tournament produced several thrilling matches as players displayed skill, determination and sportsmanship. Beyond the competition, the event aimed to promote youth development, healthy lifestyles and community unity.
Tournament organiser and Dan Tloome Sports Council and Academy chairperson Mamagola Modimoeng said the event exceeded expectations and achieved its goal of bringing young people together through sport.

“Furthermore, apart from the soccer and netball tournament, we had a basketball game, a five-a-side game for the elderly and a chess tournament for those who were interested, which all contributed to the success of the two-day tournament,” said Modimoeng.
She emphasised the importance of creating opportunities for young people to express themselves through sport while remaining active and building strong community ties.
The successful hosting of the tournament reflected the community’s commitment to youth development and provided a memorable Youth Day celebration for participants and spectators alike.
