A Toekomsrus man has helped police to arrest a street robber after he recognized the man when he became his latest victim.
The man was walking in Toekomsrus at approximately 9.45pm on 25 may, when he was approached by three men.
One of the men produced a firearm and held the victim at gunpoint and they robbed him of his cellphone.
Unfortunately for one of the robbers, the victim recognized him as someone from his area.
The police were contacted and with family members of the victim, managed to trace the suspect.
Warrant officer Nicolaas Otto arrested the suspect within 12 hours after he was tasked with helping to find him.
The suspect, a 25 year old man from Toekomsrus, was charged and appeared in the Randfontein Magistrates court on 31st May 2013 and the case was remanded.
