All Grade 12 learners and adults who wish to further their education at any higher education institutions are urged to apply immediately in order to avoid any disappointments in 2014.
According to the Randfontein and Westonaria DA Whip Jacques Julius, he together with the party are concerned with the number of young people that are forced to waste a year sitting at home owing to late application in universities.
“As an organisation that is passionate about the South African youth, their education and future, the DA in the West Rand would like to urge parents and students to apply for space at Higher Education Institutions as a matter of urgency
“This is to avoid any disappointments in 2014 that may arise by applying at the last minute.
“Dreams fall through the cracks because people end up not furthering their studies when they had intentions of doing so,” says Julius.
He adds that this is the time that learners need to reflect back on their dreams and determine which careers they wish to follow.
“Remember that you can only register in 2014 if your application is successful.
“You need to apply in 2013 to study in 2014.
“Time is already running out with applications for some qualifications already closed.
“Even if you do not plan to study in 2014, apply anyway because most students decide to study only in January after they get their results and find that it is too late to apply,” he says.
