Randfontein residents are urged to prepare themselves for another power outage that will hit the town on 23 July from 7.30am till 8pm.
According to the Randfontein Local Municipality, this is just a maintenance procedure and residents are urged not to panic.
Areas that will be affected by the outage are portions of Greenhills, Homelake, the Central Business District (CBD) as well areas from Uncle Harry’s up to to Sutherland Street.
Municipal Spokesperson Lucky Chiya says that the outage will be due to the revamp of existing switches at the main substation.
“We do apologise for the inconvenience, however the maintenance needs to go ahead as planned.
“This is to ensure minimal problems this winter as there is a huge demand for electricity throughout town,” says Chiy.
