The love of reading can open doors

Local children express their thanks for a massive book donation.

The love of reading can open many doors and establish relationships that stretch across oceans.

That is precisely what has happened between the children at a rural school in Randfontein and pupils from the Tuxedo Park School in New York.

The US pupils recently put together a project to raise funds to buy books for children at Mamblomong School and the nearby Elandsvlei Drop-in Centre, which is both institutions that forms part of Carryou Ministy’s work.

Around 250 books were delivered to these two institutions and already they are opening a whole new world to the local children in this rural area.

To show their appreciation towards the pupils from Tuxedo Park School in New York, the children from both Mablomong School as well as the Elandsvlei Drop-In Centre wrote letters to the children from Tuxedo Park School, telling them what a huge difference they made in their lives.
