WRDM to hold prayer session for Mandela
The prayer session will create a platform for Randfontein residents to further stand united.

The West Rand District Municipality is set to embark on a regional prayer session at the Hekpoort Community Hall on 13 July for former President Nelson Mandela who is in a critical condition in hospital.
The meeting will be held at 2pm.
According to West Rand District Municipality Executive Mayor Mpho Nawa, it is only right and just that South Africans come together to wish the father of the nation a speedy recovery.
“We express our heartfelt gratitude to the many South Africans and other people of the world who have been praying for the recovery of our former president.
“As we mark the 95th birthday of our outstanding leader, we must pay tribute to the man who has fought for the freedom that we enjoy today.
“His life and work has served as an embodiment of what humans should be to themselves and to others as well,” says Nawa.
He adds that this is an invitation to churches, the youth, workers, taxi associations as well as community members in Randtontein to come together and join hands for the wellbeing of Tata Mandela.
Nawa also quotes a moving statement delivered by Mandela at the opeing of his defense case in the Rivonia Trial at the Pretoria Supreme Court in April 1964.
“I have cherished the idea of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an idea for which I hope to live for and to achieve but if need be, it is an idea for which I am prepared to die.”
According to Nawa, the prayer session will create a platform for Randfontein residents to further stand united.
