Relief for people wallowing in debt?

We want to assist consumers who are blacklisted.

People with a bad credit record will be given another lease on life as things are expected to smooth out for them in the form of a second credit amnesty.

The second credit amnesty is said to allow for people who are sinking in debt to settle what they owe at a reasonable price.

This was announced by the Select Committee on Trade and International Relations who said that debt is negatively affecting economic growth in South Africa.

According to the Committee’s Chairperson Dumisani Gamede, the Department is set to implement the second credit amnesty to help curb the employment rate as well.

“As the committee, we want to assist consumers who are blacklisted.

“We are working together with the National Credit Regulator and the Department of Trade and Industry to ensure that this happens,” says Gamede.

He adds that the second credit amnesty will be a much needed solution to those who are unable to get employment because of a bad credit record.

“It is time that people realize that blacklisting is a widespread problem and many people need assistance,” says Gamede.
