Bob and Wendey celebrates Madiba Day
Bob and Wendy Nursery celebrates Madiba Day by giving back to those less fortunate.
Bob and Wendy Nursery boasts with their success as a local nursery and to give back to the community during Madiba Day was just another honour for the owners of this prestigious nursery.
According to the owner of the nursery, Christa Marx, they decided to make Madiba Day 2013 a memorable one by reaching out to local NGO’s as well as the Jabulani informal settlement on the outskirts of town.
“We made up about 400 gift bags filled with sweets and other fun goodies and gave these packets to children at the Jabulani informal settlement as well as o the children from Huis Eldad – a local home for orphaned children.
“We also handed out colouring pictures of Madiba to the children along with the gift bags,” says Christa.
“It was a fun day and we had a great time doing charity work in Madiba’s honour.”
Aside from all the gift bags they handed out, the management of Bob and Wendy also decorated their whole building with Madiba Day goodies and pasted their nursery’s Madiba colouring pictures all over the premises.
“We also gave the community the opportunity to take part in our celebrations by handing out ribbons that they could tie to our front fence. Various people in the community took part in this excersice and decorated our front fence with hundreds of colourful ribbons,” says Christa.
She adds that this day was a huge success and they will remember it for many years to come.
