The Randfontein Local Municipality has once again been awarded Blue Drop certification for the quality of its drinking water.
According to Randfontein Local Municipality Executive Mayor Sylvia Thebenare, during the previous assessment cycle, the municipality was found to have performed extremely well in ensuring safe drinking water supply to its residents.
“We were scored a staggering 100 per cent for drinking water quality compliance, treatment process management as well as management and accountability of clean water.
“We also managed to score 94 and 91 per cent for water safety planning and asset management respectively.
“We as the municipality together with the water board are proud of this and have been congratulated on this achievement.
“It is evident that hard work was put into ensuring safe water supply to the community of Randfontein,” says Thebenare.
