Another rapist is on the lose and is currently being sought by the Randfontein police after he attacked and raped a 29-year-old woman in her own home in Elandsvlei on 15 February at approximately 4am.
According to Randfontein SAPS Spokesperson, Captain Appel Ernst, the woman was sleeping when the incident occurred.
“Investigations into the case have revealed that the woman was asleep prior to the ordeal taking place.
“She heard strange noises from inside the house and thought that it was her sister who also stays in the premsies,” says Ernst.
She adds that unfortunately this was not the case and the woman realized this when she woke up only to find a man standing next to her bed.
“The suspect immediately overpowered the woman and continued to rape her.
“He then left her on the bed after the incident and fled from the scene on foot,” says Ernst.
“Warrant Officer Deidre Radley from the Krugersdorp Family and Child Protection Unit is investigating the case and hopes to make an arrest soon.
