Rand West City municipality completes key infrastructure repairs in Westergloor
Municipal maintenance teams have wrapped up targeted road safety, street lighting, and infrastructure repairs across the suburb.
The Rand West City Local Municipality’s Rapid Response Team (RRT) wrapped up its maintenance operations in Westergloor on Friday, August 21, with crews addressing several road and street infrastructure issues.
Road safety and maintenance backlogs addressed
The latest work focused on improving road safety and addressing maintenance backlogs in key areas of the suburb.
Crews patched potholes along Van Rensburg and Trichardt roads, helping to improve road conditions for motorists and residents. The team also repainted speed humps on Trichardt and Pretorius roads, as well as Piet Uys Street, improving their visibility and helping motorists identify traffic-calming measures.

Technicians further attended to faulty street lighting on Van Rensburg Road and Potgieter Street, repairing lights in the affected areas.
The work forms part of the RRT’s ongoing efforts to address infrastructure challenges and improve service delivery across Randfontein. The latest operations follow maintenance work carried out in Westergloor earlier in August, when the team attended to gutters and wastewater infrastructure.
The continued maintenance is aimed at keeping roads, traffic-calming infrastructure and street lighting in better condition while responding to issues raised by the community.
