Lizerie en Ezra Ferreira maak atletiekgeskiedenis in Randfontein.
Ezra en Lizerie Ferreira het weereens gewys dat atletiek in hul are bruis toe hulle in Maart aan die Gauteng Klub Atletiekkampioenskappe deelgeneem het.
Volgens die bemarker van Hoërskool Riebeeckrand, Rickus Kruger, het dié kampioenskappe by die Germiston stadion plaasgevind.
“Beide Ezra en Lizerie het puik presteer,” vertel Rickus.
Ezra het ‘n eerste plek in die 800m en ‘n tweede plek in die 1 500m behaal terwyl Lizerie ‘n eerste plek in beide die 800m en 1 500m behaal het.
“Met hul puik prestasies tydens die kampioenskappe het hulle vir hulself ‘n plek by die Suid-Afrikaanse Atletiekkampioenskappe in Stellenbosch verseker,” vertel Rickus.
Dit is die eerste keer in Riebeeckrand se geskiedenis dat ‘n broer en suster saam die Suid-Afrikaanse Atletiekspan op skool- en klubvlak behaal.
“Almal by Hoërskool Riebeeckrand, hou vir julle duim vas.
“Ons glo dit sal uitstekend met julle gaan,” vertel Rickus.
