Load shedding expected today

'System constrained' — Eskom.

According to Khulu Phasiwe from the Eskom Media Desk, “As we speak, the system is currently confined. There is a high likelihood of load shedding today.”

Phasiwe says the reason for this is “There is not enough generating capacity for the demand. Right now we have some capacity to meet the demand but the demand usually goes up as the day progresses especially when people get home from work.”

This means for now, the time of load shedding is to be announced at a later stage during the day.

According to the Randfontein load shedding schedule; 2A* and 6A*(see areas below) will be affected from 6am to 10.30am and 2A, 6A, 6B* will be affected from 6pm to 10.30pm.
