Return over-due books without paying a fine

'Don't be afraid' — librarian.

The Randfontein Local Municipality is having a library fine-free month and urges the public to return late library books during this time.

They are offering the public a chance to return overdue library books and not pay a fine throughout the month of March.
Jeanine Mostert, Randfontein Local Municipality Librarian said, “Don’t be afraid to bring the books back. Books are assets we lose and we are looking at getting those books back for others to enjoy.”Overdue books can be taken to the nearest library and do not need to be taken to the original library where they were loaned from.

With the last fine-free month in 2014, 829 books were returned to Randfontein libraries and R5 816 was written off.

Library books can be returned to any one of these libraries:

• Randfontein Public Library
• Kocksoord Library
• Randgate Library
• Toekomsrus Library
• Mohlakeng Library
• Badirile Library
• Jabulani Library

In addition to this, all Randfontein libraries will now be open on Saturdays from 8am to 12pm starting from the 1st of March.
