Two people lost their lives and four people were injured during an accident on the N14 approximately 10km from Ventersdorp towards Krugersdorp on Sunday morning.
According to Netcare 911 spokesperson, Santi Steinmann, “Paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found that two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision.
One of the vehicles then proceeded to overturned and came to a standstill on its side partially on the roadway. The other vehicle came to a standstill in the area next to the roadway.
“Upon assessment of the all the occupants, paramedics found that two men tragically lost their lives during the crash. There was nothing that could be done for the two deceased men and they were declared dead at the scene.
Three men were found to have sustained serious injuries while a fourth person sustained critical injuries. All the injured patients were treated at the scene and transported to hospital for further medical care.”
Exact detail surrounding the cause of the head-on collision and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
