Murder, rape and hijacking over the past weekend

Police make Randfontein 111 times safer than last weekend.

Three house robbery and murder suspects were some of the 111 (one hundred and eleven) arrests that were made in the Krugersdorp Cluster the past weekend.

Murder, rape, hijacking and robbery were just some of the 111 arrests made over the past weekend in the Krugersdorp Cluster.

Members of the Cluster together with the Randfontein Detectives arrested suspects linked to a house robbery that occurred in April in Culemborg Park where a resident was shot and killed. These suspects were found in possession of numerous stolen items.

Furthermore, the Cluster Crime Prevention teams in partnership with the local traffic authorities concentrated on drivers driving under the influence.

A total of 19 suspects were arrested throughout the Cluster for this offence.

The other arrests made over the weekend ranged from contraventions of the Liqour Act to travelling on a train without a valid ticket.

Acting Cluster Commander, Brigadier Baijnath expressed his satisfaction with the successes achieved during the weekend.

“Crime prevention is our main objective and removing the criminal element from our communities forms a large part of that objective. We will continue in this manner,” he said.
