NPA postpones Ashley George murder and kidnapping case for docket disclosure
A court has granted a further postponement in a kidnapping and murder case involving two accused to allow for outstanding witness statements and docket disclosure.
The murder and kidnapping case involving Ashley George and Fazel Benns has been postponed again, with the matter set to return to the Randfontein Magistrate’s Court on October 26.
According to National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Magaboke Mohlatlole, the matter was postponed to allow for docket disclosure.

The two accused, an 18-year-old and a minor whose identity is protected, were granted bail of R3 000 each on June 4. The case has been postponed several times for further investigation, including obtaining outstanding witness statements.
The matter relates to the alleged kidnapping and murder of George and Benns. George was killed, while Benns remains missing and is feared dead.
The accused are expected to appear again on October 26 for the docket disclosure process.
