Taxi collision leaves 12 injured

ER24: The cause of the collision is not yet known.

A collision between a taxi and truck left 12 people injured on the N12 in Westonaria on Wednesday.

According to Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson, “ER24 paramedics along with other services arrived on scene and found a wrecked taxi in the middle of the road. A truck had stopped a few metres away from the side of the road.”

Upon assessment, paramedics found 12 injured people of which two of them were in a critical condition. Subsequently, they treated the patients and proved the two who were critically injured with advanced life support.

The patients were later transported to Leratong and Leslie Williams Hospital for further treatment.

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations,” Meiring concluded.
