Man dies after brutal assault
Police: The wounds could be the result of a stabbing.
A 26-year-old man has died after being assaulted early on Sunday morning (25 October) in Wilbotsdal.
The incident took place at around 1.26am. Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson confirmed the police were called out to a scene of assault in the area.
“Upon our arrival we found emergency services personnel on the scene. The victim could not be resuscitated and was declared dead. The police officers investigated and found that the victim had wounds to his upper body.
The wounds could be the result of a stabbing. The victim was removed to the local pathology department for the required postmortem. No suspect has been arrested as yet.”
The investigating officer, Warrant Officer Thabiso Duiker urges any person who might be able to assist him in the investigation to contact him on 011 278 8131.
