Man turns himself in after murder
Police: We do not know what the motive of the attack is.
A 28-year-old man handed himself over to the Bekkersdal Police after stabbing and killing a man at a shebeen.
The incident took place at around 8pm last Saturday.
Sergeant Linkie Lefakane from the Bekkersdal Police said the victim was at a shebeen with his friends when the 28-year-old suspect suddenly sat next to them.
The man pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim without any provocation and fled the scene,” said Lefakane.
The Bekkersdal Police still do not know what the motive of the attack is.
After the man handed himself over, he was charged and appeared in the Westonaria Regional Court shortly after. The defence applied for bail, however, it was not granted.
He is expected to be back in court today.
