Gillian Malgas, 18, Randfontein’s soon to be international model needs the help of the community to make her dream come true.
Gillian was scouted by Kimberly Myers, an international motivational speaker, talent scout and executive director for the ARTS International Showcase. She saw the young star on the International ARTS Talent Showcase stage at Silverstar Casino.
Gillian was invited to participate in the ARTS International Showcase in New York where she will be performing in front of a panel of agents, record-label representatives casting directors, managers and producers from around the world.
In her invitation Myers said, “Take great pride in knowing that you are among the very best.”
Gillian needs to raise exactly R61 980 to go to New York to show what she can do, put South Africa on the map as well as make Randfontein proud. Unfortunately Gillian and her family do not have that kind of money laying around and have done and will continue to do various fundraisers so their young star could go to the Big Apple.
They are urging Randfontein to help make her dream come true by donating anything they can.
Eugene Malgas, Gillian’s father said, “This opportunity allows Gillian to reign as a representative of Randfontein as well as pursuing a platform that will encourage all kinds of people.
With her ultimate goal to be a successful model, she could filter her training and exposure back to the youth. This is why your financial contribution is important and would make a difference.”
The family will be hosting the charity event Freshers Ball at Da Side in Aureus to raise funds for Gillian. DJs Chad, Bibby, S. Java, Zulu, Renzo and Nyiko will be performing at the eventm as well as Lee-Roy Cook and 2 point 7.

Time: 5pm until late
All the proceeds of the event will go towards Gillian’s trip to New York.
