Missing teen, 13, found dead

Community called to assist finding the 'monster' responsible.

13-year-old missing Patricia Mbuli was tragically found dead a exactly a week after she was reported missing.

According to Gloria Maswanganye, Krugersdorp Cluster Spokesperson,  “The body of a 13-year-old girl was recovered in a bushy area in Toekomsrus, Randfontein. The discovery was made on Wednesday, 16 March at approximately 11am.”

The body was that of Patricia Mbuli who was reported missing on Wednesday, 9 March. Particia was last seen outside Randfontein Secondary School (RSS) where she was a grade 8 pupil.

“On Wednesday, 16 March at about 11am, an adult male was hunting in the bush with his dogs when he made the gruesome discovery. The victim was partially undressed and her books and shoes were found next to her body,” Maswanganye said.

The motive for the murder is not yet known by the police.

The Randfontein station commander, Brigadier Mashole Jacob Manamela appeals to the community for assistance that may lead to the arrest of the monster responsible for this brutal killing,” She said.

Chairperson for the Randfontein CPF executive committee, Zaheer Gangat said, “We as CPF urge communities to stand together in keeping our children safe and the rest of the community. Wen need to stand up and stand together to prevent crime. We pass our condolences to the family and thank our chairperson of CPF sector 2, André Roberts in his effort in assisting with the locating of the deceased. It is a sad day for the community of Randfontein as we are loosing our future leaders.
