A Mohlakeng teen arrived home from school only to find his mom’s body on the floor.
Although the woman has not been identified yet, Randfontein Police spokesperson Captain Appel Ernst confirmed she was 55 years old. It is believed domestic violence played a role in her death. Her boyfriend since has disappeared without a trace.
“At around 4.15pm on Tuesday, 15 March, police members were called to a scene in Black Leopard Street in Mohlakeng. They were informed by the 16-year-old son of the house that he discovered the body of his mother when he returned from school.
“It is alleged the victim and her life partner were having relationship problems and they allegedly argued heatedly on the day of her death.
The boy alleged that upon his arrival at home from school, he found the radio playing extremely hard. He then realised there was blood on the bathroom door.
“He allegedly investigated and found the lifeless body of his mother on the floor. She had a stab wound to the body,” Ernst said.
