The Randfontein Police have encountered bogus advertisements claiming to be from the police.
A police traineeship for 2017 as well as other supposed vacancies within the police force are being advertised on https://www.jobfeed.co.za/police-development-learning-programme/.
However, the police said in a statement that all vacancies within the force are published in various newspapers throughout the country.
Existing vacancies can be viewed on the official police website www.saps.gov.za from which the official application forms can also be downloaded. Police said only information on the official website can be regarded as authentic.
They also confirmed that there are no posts available for police trainees. The advertisements on www.jobfeed.co.za should be ignored as they are part of a scam aimed at misleading the public.
Police urge the public to report these illegal activities to them.
