Westonaria High School held their matric farewell with a twist at the Klip Rivier Country Lodge in Vereeniging on Thursday, 4 August.
The theme was Pirates of the Caribbean with the entrance and venue transformed into a mystical pirate ship where the pupils were able to live themselves into the scenes of the classic Walt Disney movie. The menu as well as the waiters linked to the theme, which contributed to the other-worldly atmosphere.
Petru Mienie, a member of the School Governing Body (SGB) said, “The special function met all the expectations of the pupils and made the evening truly unforgettable”.
Petru took it upon herself to involve the community of Westonaria. Many people provided fancy cars with drivers to transport the Grade 12 pupils.
“This was a huge success and added extra excitement to the start of an extraordinary evening,” she said.
Westonaria High School sincerely thanks the community, Westonaria Traffic Department and the local police for their support and assistance.
“It contributed hugely to making this an event to remember. The principal and staff wish the Grade 12 pupils the best of luck with the exams. Westonaria High School trust that their hard work will pay off.”
