When visiting Laerskool Avante Primary on Wednesday, 19 October, one was most likely to stumble right into an enchanted forest. A forest where fairies share their giggles and play during every tick of the clock.

These fairies scurried to get ready for Miss Avante 2016. Glitter and fairy dust flung trough the air as they were preparing for this enchanted event of the year. Various members of the community contributed to the night of Avante’s fairies in terms of sponsors and assistance.

“I was working with a great team. Nothing I asked them was too big to accomplish,” said Elizet Fouchee, main organiser of the event.
As the night progressed, the stage was continuously filled with all the cuteness and talent one can expect from a Miss Avante event.

The winning fairies of the night were the following:
Juniors:
• Miss Photogenic: Palesa Letsatse
• Second Princess: Katlego Sejake
• First Princess: Tshegofatso Maluleke
• Miss Avante Junior: Palesa Letsatse
• Miss Debutante: Palesa Letsatse
Seniors:
• Miss Photogenic: Atlegang Maretlwa
• Second Princess: Nakisani Nenjelele
• First Princess: Phindile Shea
• Miss Avante Senior: Tshiamo Leping
“We can’t wait for the next Miss Avante which will be in 2018. The girls are already asking if they can enter again. And maybe this time, the little gentlemen in the school, can also show their worth,” Elizet concluded.
