Woman assaulted after burglary

Be careful if someone rings at your door – this woman was threatened and assaulted.

A woman of unknown age was recently threatened, assaulted and had money and goods stolen from her home in Mohlakeng.

According to Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police’s spokesperson, the incident took place on Sunday, 23 April, at approximately 11.45pm.

The victim allegedly heard a knock at her door and when she answered, a strange man forced the door open and entered the house.

“He was tall, slender and dark in complexion,” Ernst explained. The man demanded money, and took a laptop as well as a cellphone from the home.

“The suspect produced a screwdriver, threatened the victim and assaulted her in the face before he left,” Ernst said.

The matter is currently under investigation by Constable Bambiso of the Trio Task Team. If anyone has more information about the burglary, Bambiso can be contacted on 079 496 6288.
