A 29-year-old man was arrested on the N12 in Westonaria on Tuesday, 4 July for being in possession of drugs with an estimated street value of R3 680.

Sergeant Edward Molefe and Constable Clement Semono were conducting routine crime prevention duties on the N12 at the time. Warrant Officer Raymond Sebonyane, spokesperson for the Westonaria Police, said they stopped a white Toyota Corolla and searched its five occupants.

They discovered a substantial quantity of drugs in the possession of the suspect. An expert has alleged that the drugs in question are Ecstacy tablets.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court soon.
The Westonaria station commander, Colonel Selvan Moonsamy, commended the members for their vigilance.
