A female relative of the murdered Gerhard Kotze, 63, appeared in the Randfontein Magistrates’ Court for a second time on Tuesday, 17 October for a bail application.
She was granted R10 000 bail, but certain conditions apply. She will appear in the Regional Court with the relative who was arrested first – a 34-year-old man who is in custody – on 31 October.

On Thursday, 1 June, Kotze’s remains were found in a shallow grave on a plot in Pelzvale. Forensic experts spent numerous hours exhuming the body, which was transported to the Roodepoort Government Mortuary for the postmortem. Evidence found on the scene suggested that the body was that of the 63-year-old man who was reported missing in that area on 28 April this year.
The DNA test results the investigating officer Rupert van Zyl received on Thursday, confirmed that the remains were those of Kotze.
