Man arrested at mall after crime in CBD

Management has confirmed that a man with a firearm tried to blend into the crowd at Village Square Mall after committing a crime in the CBD but was arrested.

A suspect with a firearm who tried to blend into the crowd at Village Square Mall after allegedly committing a crime in the CBD was arrested at about noon today.

Although local police are yet to provide an official statement, it is believed the suspect ran into a shop at Village Square and tried to blend into the crowd.

Francois du Buisson from Village Square Mall management told the Herald that no crime occurred in the mall itself.

“The police managed to arrest the suspect in the mall where he was trying to hide his firearm,” Du Buisson said.
