The Bekkersdal Police arrested a 51-year-old man for pointing a firearm.
The incident happened at about 4.30pm on 30 November after a 33-year-old woman had gone to the man’s home to demand her money back. He allegedly took a firearm and threatened the victim with it. The matter was reported to the police and the suspect was arrested.
“It is alleged the man collected money from individuals in exchange for jobs at a mine.
He allegedly failed to fulfil his promises and when the people demanded their money he could not give it back,” said Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, Bekkersdal Police spokesperson.
