Three arrested early on Valentine’s Day

Westonaria Police arrested three men early on Valentine's Day for being in possession of suspected stolen goods.

Westonaria Police arrested three men aged 41, 42 and 45 early on Valentine’s Day (14 February) for being in possession of suspected stolen goods.

According to Warrant Officer Raymond Sebonyane, Westonaria Police spokesperson, Constables David Mugada and Robert Mojela were conducting routine patrols around Westonaria at about 2.45am, but it was on the R500 that they spotted a silver Isuzu bakkie with three occupants, stopped it and searched it. In the back of the bakkie, they found a number of large pipes.

“They asked the driver where was he taking the pipes to, but he could not give a clear explanation, or produce any documents. They arrested all three men for suspected stolen property.”

The suspects are expected to appear in Westonaria Magistrates’ Court soon.
