• 25 April: Puppet mayhem comes to Montecasino

What would Conrad Koch and Chester Missing talk about if they didn’t constantly discuss politics and race? In his latest show offering, Puppet Guy, Conrad Koch – the man often mistakenly called ‘Chester’ – goes back to the lighter side of comedy ventriloquism. The show, brought to you in association with Comedy Central Africa, takes place for the first time in Johannesburg at the Pieter Toerien Studio Theatre at Montecasino from 25 April to 27 May 2018.

• Until 11 March: Diamonds & Pearls at Barnyard Theatre Silverstar

Take a journey down memory lane with two of the most successful recording and performing artists of all time. From surprise dedications to duet performances, this show is jam-packed with all of your favourites from way-back-when. Hits such as Beautiful Noise, Long Fellow Serenade and Love On The Rocks will get Neil Diamond fans swaying their hips, while Celine Dion fans can enjoy renditions of some of her most well-known songs including The Power Of Love, I Drove All Nightand My Heart Will Go On. Weaving between fan favourites and ultimate hits, this show makes for a memorable night out with friends.

• 24 March: Annalakshmi’s African Adventure at Emperors Palace
Annalakshmi’s African Adventure is a hilarious musical comedy about being an Indian National taking refuge in South Africa. This one-woman-show will take place for the first time on a Joburg stage on the 24th of March at the Theatre of Marcellus, Emperors Palace. Using singing in a variety of Indian vernacular, as well as old and contemporary English music, Annalakshmi tackles family, social, economic and political issues.

 

• 10 March: 2018 Food And Beer Pairings in Johannesburg

The SAB World of Beer reloads its monthly food and beer pairings for 2018. Each beer pairing experience focuses on finding the harmony between beer, a grain-based beverage, and food through pairing with simple or both rich and complex flavors. The beer pairing lunches are held once a month on a Saturday at the five-star tourist attraction in Newtown.
