Man caught with suspected stolen data machine

He could not explain how he came into possession of the machine and he could not produce the PIN number required to operate the machine.

A man is expected to appear in the Randfontein Magistrates’ Court after being arrested for possession of suspected stolen property.

Constable Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson said that the 32-year-old man was arrested on 22 November at about 2.30pm.

“Community patrollers brought a man to the police station who had a Blue Wireless data machine in his possession. He could not explain how he came into possession of the machine and he could not produce the PIN number required to operate the machine,” she said.

The suspect was arrested and detained at the Randfontein cells. He will appear in the Randfontein Magistrates’ Court soon.

“The value of the machine is unknown,” Hendricks said.

Brigadier Mashole Jacob Manamela, Randfontein Police station commander expressed his gratitude towards the community patrollers for being vigilant and doing a good job.

“Together we can make Randfontein a better and safer place for all,” he concluded.
