Crime, health awareness created in Toekies

Over 100 people in Toekomsrus were reached during a crime and health awareness campaign held by Randfontein Police and other stakeholders recently.

The Randfontein Police along with other stakeholders addressed a number of crime and health awareness issues in Toekomsrus recently.

Partnering with local police were councillors, the Rand West City Department of Public Safety and the Gauteng Department of Social Development.

According to Constable Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson, “Issues such as women abuse, mental illness, human and drug trafficking, gender-based violence, domestic violence, assault, drugs and substance abuse as well as crime in general were discussed.

“Over 100 people were reached and 400 pamphlets with safety tips were handed out.”
