A man and a woman were arrested last week for illegally selling liquor at shebeens in Randfontein.
The arrests were made during one of the various operations conducted by the Randfontein Police on 3 and 4 January.
Constable Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson said the Liquor (Flash) and Sector Policing teams were busy with operations when they received information that liquor was being sold illegally at certain shebeens.
“At two different addresses at OR Tambo and Siyatlala informal settlements, they found liquor and not one of the owners had liquor licences to produce,” Hendricks said.
The liquor was confiscated and two suspects were arrested.
