Six people had to be transported to various hospitals following two separate vehicle crashes in the Carletonville area on 1 March.
Six people had to be transported to hospital following two separate accidents in the Carletonville area on Friday, 1 March.
In the first incident, a vehicle rolled on the N12 between the R500 and the Kokosi turnoff, just south of Carletonville, trapping a 54-year-old woman in the vehicle.
“ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at about 2pm. Other services, including the fire department, were on hand to extract the woman from her vehicle. She was then treated and transported to Mediclinic Potchefstroom,” said Ross Campbell, ER24 spokesperson.

“Hours later, a head-on crash further down the N12 highway between the Kokosi and Wedela turnoffs left five young adults with minor injuries. Three women and a man from the one vehicle and a woman from the other vehicle were found on the scene. ER24, as well as other emergency services, were on hand to treat and transport all the patients to the Carletonville Hospital.
“The police were on the scene at both incidents for further investigation,” Campbell concluded.
