When he got home, he took some items he had purchased into his kitchen. While in the kitchen, he heard his wife screaming, telling him that there was someone at the door.

“When he went to check, he saw his wife was trying to close the door and prevent a person from getting into the house. The unknown suspect forced his way into the house, fired one shot, and demanded money,” Constable Carmen Hendricks said.

Hendricks added that another suspect followed and when the victim asked them what they wanted from him they pointed a firearm at him.

“The one suspect then searched him and took an undisclosed amount of money out of his pocket. They also took a laptop and two cellphones before fleeing the scene. It is not known if they fled on foot or in a vehicle, but one was injured during the incident,” Hendricks added.

Brigadier Mashole Jacob Manamela, Randfontein police station commander said he will do everything in his power to get criminals off the streets. He has also requested the community to provide any information they may have that may lead to arrests.
