Serious crimes discussed at disability centre

Randfontein Police and stakeholders discussed issues such as crime, human trafficking, domestic violence, substance abuse and sexual assault at the Toekomsrus Disability Centre.

Randfontein Police along with other stakeholders embarked on an awareness campaign on Wednesday, 6 March. They visited the Toekomsrus Disability Centre where they discussed various social ills.

The campaign was aimed at addressing issues such as crime; abuse directed at women, children and men; mental illness; human trafficking; domestic violence; drug trafficking; assault; substance abuse and sexual assault.

The following stakeholders were also part of the programme, namely Rand West City Public Safety, Rand West City Community Safety, Itsoseng Victim Empowerment and the West Rand District Municipality.

People at the centre were educated about several societal ills.
