Get to know a ‘Teiner’ #103 — Sheila Olifant

Meet our ‘Teiner’ of the week, Sheila Olifant of Mohlakeng, who said that for her, simply living a normal, happy life leaves her content.
The 54-year-old, who was born and bred in Mohlakeng said she consistently surrounds herself with good energy and people she loves and values.
“For me, that’s all life should be about – happiness. A very long time ago, I realised that many of us are not content because we are constantly obsessed with the things we do not have – such thoughts create a void within us,” Sheila said.
She added among the things she wishes people could understand is that there is far more to life than constant worrying, bumps in life or when things get tough financially.
“Sometimes, simply having inner peace sets you free. I believe as people we should try to enjoy our lives here on earth by being with our loved ones and stop sulking,” she said.
Sheila said she always makes sure that wherever she goes she shows people love and added that it generally comes back to her.
“What generally makes me happy is being in the company of people who are happy too, people who are sharing jokes and those looking to cheer up those who are sad. Now that is the kind of life we should be aspiring to. Let us live for the moment and be grateful,” Sheila added.
