UPDATE R’fontein substation fire: Herald journalist reports from scene

The whole of Randfontein can expect to be without power for some time.

This after a substation exploded early Saturday morning and is still burning according to an official tweet by Eskom.

Tumi Riba, Herald journalist is reporting from the scene he described as ‘hectic’.

He confirmed that firefighters are hard at work.

Although it is yet to be confirmed Riba was told on scene that the whole of Randfontein is affected.
