A total of 70 suspected criminals, including 60 undocumented persons, have been arrested during an integrated O Kae Molao operation in the Carletonville and Khutsong policing precincts on Wednesday, 26 June.
Captain Eddie Boboko, West Rand District Police spokesperson said various police members on the West Rand joined in on the operation under the command of Brigadier Maria Selepe, the West Rand District Vispol Commander.

The operation yielded various successes and a number of goods were confiscated.
“One illegal shebeen was closed down, six people were arrested for being in possession of drugs, one for being in possession of a dangerous weapon and two for being in possession of presumed stolen property. Sixty undocumented persons were arrested, and two secondhand goods dealers were inspected and searched for compliance and stolen property.
“Good confiscated included 166 855ml of liquor, three fridges, 288 empty bottles, 24 liquor crates, seven balaclavas, one panga, one okapi knife, one syringe and a mandrax tablet, 21 packets of dagga and nine packets of nyaope.”
He said all those arrested will appear in the Carletonville and Khutsong Magistrates’ Courts today, 27 June.
Captain Boboko further warned that operations will continue throughout the coming weekend.
Major General Fred Kekana, the West Rand Police District commander, welcomed the arrests and applauded all members who were involved in the operation.
“We will not rest until those who commit crimes are brought to book and face the full might of the law.”
