Two brothers and sister of one family were arrested yesterday (Tuesday, 30 July) in connection with the murder of a worker on a farm in Glenharvie during the weekend.
The woman is said to be the girlfriend of the deceased.

Sergeant Audrey Sefara, the Westonaria Police spokesperson confirmed that the man was attacked on Saturday night, 27 July and that he later died in hospital.
“At about 7.40am on Sunday, 28 July, police were summoned to a complaint of a farm attack. On arrival at the farm, they were informed by the owner that his employee, 59, was found locked inside his house. He had been beaten severely and his hands were tied. The owner rushed him to Sebokeng Hospital were he later died.
“The deceased meanwhile managed to inform the owner that his girlfriend, 34, and her brother, 39, visited him the previous night. Whilst they were having fun, the siblings started assaulting him, tied his hands and stole his television, cellphone and his blue Jetta motor vehicle, and left.

“On Tuesday, 30 July, police managed to arrest a 33-year-old man (one of the brothers) for possession of stolen property as the television was found in his house. The woman and the other brother were later arrested in Sebokeng for house robbery and murder. The motor vehicle was also recovered.”
Colonel Selvan Moonsamy, the Westonaria Police station commander, commended the members for their efforts by working tirelessly around the clock to make sure that the suspects were traced and apprehended.

The suspects will appear in the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court soon.
