Road 5 in Hillside a big concern

'The state of the road endangers pedestrians' lives'.

Road 5 in Hillside is becoming more problematic by the day. It is in such a state that vehicles using it are being damaged, and fears are that innocent lives are being put in danger every day.

The state of Road 5 has been an issue for a few months now. I try almost every day to get the municipality to come out and attend to it, but nothing happens,” said Peter Garay, a concerned Hillside resident.

He described Road 5 as a big concern because of its condition. Desperate vehicle drivers now drive on the walkway and expect pedestrians to give them right of way, in the process putting the pedestrians’ lives in danger.

“Are they waiting for someone to lose his or her life or a limb before they do something to fix the road?” a worried Garay asked.

Road 5 in Hillside, Randfontein is a cause of great concern.
