FJL Wells Primary Mine School honoured its best performing learners for excelling in academics and sport in 2019 at an awards ceremony held on Friday, 7 November.
Members of the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) were also present.

According to Sello Mphatswe, the school spokesperson, learners received certificates and trophies for their efforts.
“The evening was very exciting, especially for the parents who came out to see their children being rewarded. We were also honoured to host Loraine Mofokeng of the GDE,” Sello said.

He added that the ceremony was not only to reward hardworking learners but to encourage them to constantly improve.
“We wanted them to know that education is something that is to be valued and by working hard one can achieve almost anything,” Sello concluded.
