The Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) urged residents to use water sparingly due to a damaged pipeline between Mogale City and Randfontein.
On Friday, 17 January, multiple residents expressed their concern on social media, asking what had happened to the water.
Tshidiso Thlaripe, RWCLM spokesperson, confirmed to the Herald that a Rand Water pipeline between Mogale City and Randfontein had been damaged.
The Rand Water officials have been busy fixing the problem since 4am that morning. We urge the community to use water sparingly until the problem is resolved,” he stated.
