Crimes against businesses: Mapogo report reveals five incidents during weekend

Mapogo said their crime report covering this past weekend revealed at least five incidents of business break-ins.

Mapogo A Mathamaga Security in Randfontein released its crime report for the past weekend.

According to Herman Coetzee, Operations Manager at Mapogo, the crime report for their client base revealed that there were nine incidents, all at commercial business premises and shops across Rand West City.

Breaking it down, Coetzee said there were five incidents of business break-ins in total – four in Westonaria and one in Aureus.

In addition, there were three incidents of common theft reported in the Greenhills and Aureus areas respectively, as well as one incident of malicious damage to property in Westonaria.

Coetzee again reminded business owners to remain extra vigilant.

The current modus operandi of criminals is to break in through the roof of a business.”
