Man critical after falling through roof on farm

'He had suffered critical injuries from the eight to 10 metres fall' – ER24.

A man believed to be 53 years old was critically injured and had to be airlifted to hospital after falling through a roof on a farm on the N14 in Brandvlei over the weekend.

Ross Campbell, ER24 spokesperson said the incident occurred on Saturday, 30 May.

“ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene just after 10am to find the man on the ground where his co-workers had kept him still.

He had suffered critical injuries from the eight to 10 metres fall.

“The patient was then treated and stabilised before being handed over to an advanced life support medic in a medical helicopter from another private emergency service for transportation to a private hospital for further care.”

Campbell said the cause of the fall was unknown.

“Police as well as the Traffic Department officers were on the scene to investigate, as well as to facilitate the helicopter landing on the national highway.”
